Thats scarry. My 322FKS Jayco Eagle has about 1400lbs tongue weight when loaded. I will be checking this area frequently.

Lincoln National Forest New Mexico

Does anyone know what fire restrictions are still in place, if any, in the Lincoln National Forest? I heard it was mostly closed back in May and June. We will be heading to the Silver, Saddle, and Apache campgrounds near Cloudcroft August 3-10.

That is the approx. dry weight. Our trailers are also 33'11". I'm not sure how heavy he is planning on loading it.

08 F150 towing 8000lbs trailer

A buddy of mine just purchased an 08 F150 w/full tow package, 3:73 gears that the dealer told him would adequate to tow his 08 Jayco 32FKS Jayflight travel trailer. In my opinion this way too much trailer for that truck. Ford states and 11000lbs tow capacity, but this is still a half ton truck. I tow the Eagle version on that same trailer with a Dodge 2500 Cummins with no problem, but this is a beast of a travel trailer and I am bit concerned about the safety of he and his wife. I don't want to offend him and don't know what he can do about it now that the purchase is already made. Any opinions appreciated.

RE: Dodge 3500 SRW 2WD Auto

My 05 Dodge Cummins has the lift pump in the tank. I believe all 05s came this way. I think was changed to this configuration on 04.5 models.

RE: Your fuel economy pulling a Sprinter 311BHS or = 36' TT?

I have a 34' Jayco Eagle w/two slides, About 9000lbs loaded. My 05 Dodge 2500 2 wheel drive quad cab w/Cummnis deisel and automatic w/3.73 gears gets around 10.5 to maybe 12 mpg at about 60-65 mph.

Double slide travel trailers

We have an 07 Jayco Eagle 322FKS. This is not really a problem, just something I had to get used to. When I first set up the trailer I leveled it side to side, then front to rear. I the ran both slides out and the trailer was then unlevel side to side by half a bubble. The weight of the slides seems to be enough to pull the trailer down on the drivers side. I even had the stabilizer jacks down before running out the slides. I now set the trailer a quarter to half a bubble high on that side so its level after the slides are out. Anyone else noticed this on their trailer?

RE: slide awnings

I do not have the awnings over my slides and have not yet had a problem. I have had no leaks and sweep the slide roofs off before running them in.

RE: Towing options with an F350 SRW, diesel

I have this same trailer and tow it with an 05 Dodge 2500 deisel. I don't tow it across town without the WD bars hooked up. It has way too much tongue weight. When I picked it up from the dealer they had hooked the trailer up with the bars too loose and the handling was pretty scary. I stopped and set the bars up tighter and it was way better. You have plenty of truck but I would recommend a properly set up WD hitch with adequate capacity for the trailer.
